When I turned 16 I got my driver’s license and had saved some money to buy a car. I looked around for a while but I only had $200 to spend. I found a glorious 1973 Chevy Vega, probably the biggest piece of junk Chevy ever made. It was rusted out and did not run. I bought that thing, got it running and started to fix it up. I took over the garage and suddenly became a bondo expert trying to fix all the rust and repaint the car. I had such a great vision for the car and I was totally excited about making it into anything I wanted it to be. If I wanted cool stereo, I could do it, If I wanted the car to be fire engine red, I could do that too.
What do you want? The planting of our church is a tremendous opportunity to take ownership of it. You can stretch your wings and dream big and put those dreams into motion. It does not matter if you are a leader or not, it’s your church. Do you have a great idea? Have you always wanted to serve in a certain way? Have you seen an area we could improve in that you could do? Is there a project that you think you could contribute too? Now is your chance. This is about everyone pitching in an owning it together.
Even this website, though it is brand new and light on content, is an ownership opportunity. It is not just all about me or the leader of the church producing content and articles to read. If you have something to say or even had a great quiet time, please share it with us. If it is appropriate you may see it online.
There are so many avenues to explore, so many things to start or begin working on. we need things to encourage others with such as:
Ownership comes in so many ways and all the little parts come together to build a great house to live in. Everyone is important and everyone has something to give. This new beginning is a great opportunity to build our church any way we want it.
